Augusto Jaramillo Pineda

At the start of the 2005 programme, steptext dance project presents the new work parental advisory by Augusto Jaramillo Pineda as part of the “New Choreographers” programme. In his piece parental advisory, the Colombian actor, dancer and choreographer Augusto Jaramillo Pineda and four young performers between 16 and 25 years of age search for answers to questions about the topic “aggression”. How far can your aggression drive you? Where are the limits? Is this aggressive drive a key motif of human existence? A weapon of nature, set up for the preservation and protection of the species animal and human? Is there a logical motive for killing? Without raising an admonishing index finger or even wanting to make an assessment, the choreographer wants to sensitize his audience to this topic, to which daily news about wars, killings at schools , assaults on children and increasing youth violence reach our living rooms at home via the media. But who likes to deal with the sensitive issue of aggression? If one takes oneself as the motive for contemplation – who would like to find out that one is aggressive?
