BABEL

Augusto Jaramillo Pineda

What do I actually believe in and why? Which divine, worldly and moral authorities and instances do we orient ourselves to? What separates and what unites us in the name of faith? In the biblical “Tower of Babel” the controversies of the peoples begin with their spatial and linguistic separation. From now on they must actively strive to meet and understand each other. How do we deal with these tasks today?

With dance as a common language, the young artists look back on their personal experiences and influences as well as religious rituals and power structures or everyday spirituality: a wide-awake piece about borders and freedom, division and community, hope and fanaticism, anger and consolation.
