Dear friends of steptext dance project, In these challenging times for all of us, it is more important now than ever to unite and show solidarity with one another! Freelance artists in particular are most affected by the current crisis and the resulting lack of income and, despite existing aid programmes, often find themselves in situations that endanger their economic existence. In countries that are unable to provide financial aid, the situation is even more threatening for artists. For more than 25 years steptext has been working with freelance dancers from all over the world; often regularly in different productions and projects. Without these wonderful people, the vibrant diversity in our productions and events simply would not exist. In the past few years, steptext’s work has focused on bi-continental co-production projects with artists from the African continent.
Within the context of the AFRICTIONS festival or as part of productions such as BOXOM, HOMESCAPES, DIGGING IN THE NIGHT or OUT OF JOINT by Helge Letonja, steptext has established close relationships with dance artists from many African countries including Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria and Togo. It is to them that our deepest concerns currently apply, how they might face this crisis as thrown on themselves.
Receipts up to € 200,- are accepted as a donation by the German tax office. However, we are willing to issue donation receipts.
All incoming funds are passed on 100 percent to the artists.
We sincerely thank you in anticipation for your support and hope to meet again soon and in good health on stage and in theatre! Warmest regards,
The Team of steptext dance project
