DisPLACING Future / THE DESERT
What started in the first two dance pieces with the departure out of THE BOG FOREST (2011) and the travelling through the oceanic turbulences of THE DRIFT (2012), now leads to foreign shores: into THE DESERT, the “deserted” space and state of mind in between a cultural “not- anymore” and “not-yet”. Here, the dancers from five different countries combine their extremely heterogenic impulses within the attempt to form fugitive connections, figures, constellations. Permanent transformation is their only constant. Pure physical presence their unique common ground. Bizarre chimeras flash up, musical quotations wander about, gestures meander through bodies, strangeness nests in every movement. Transculturality as a bodily process.
