DisPLACING Future / THE BOG FOREST

Helge Letonja

The dance piece “The Bog Forest” is the beginning of the “DisPLACING Future” trilogy with which Helge Letonja choreographically illuminates the topic of migration. In the “bog forest,” simultaneously the location and a symbol of its residents’ disorientation in the limbo between abandoned origins and uncertain futures, six individual fates intersect. Confronted with familiar and foreign fears and hopes, every gesture shifts the balance of the temporary accidental community. The unspeakable roams distraught articulations, alliances are found and lost, the thicket breathes and pulsates, and moods shift in the struggle for stability amid faltering structures.
