Helge Letonja & Mokhallad Rasem

AUDITION FOR LIFE / ART in the production by Mokhallad Rasem and Helge Letonja designs a stage-artistic audition, dance, singing – and expands the performative competition to a polyphonic questioning of social coexistence. The Ensemble New Bremen, which was founded for this purpose, misses the pitfalls of involuntary attributions. With intensive monologues and collective scenes, a mixture of archaic rituals and curious collisions, it tests the performing arts as a “common home” in transcultural everyday life. From the clash of verbal and physically sensual languages, from the play with musical styles and video projections, costumes and exposures, personal voices and quotations, an extremely topical plea for art as a place of progressive coexistence is growing.
