PANEL DISCUSSION: SPACES FOR DANCE

The directors of the German Dance Film Institute Bremen, which operates the world’s largest collection of dance videos, steptext dance project, an internationally integrated dance producer and organiser, and tanzbar_bremen, a recognised pioneer of inclusion in the art world, have been working with other experts since December 2018 to develop the concept “KULTUR PASSAGE BREMEN – A Dance House for the City” in response to the Bremen Culture Promotion Report and relevant questions about the need for spaces and resources for the independent dance scene.

Now they would like to critically examine the concept for its viability in a panel of experts and develop it further in an open-minded way. The panel of experts and invited guests will represent, among other things, the topics of dance house operation, media competence, inclusion in professional dance, dance training, dance medicine, cooperation between dance and science, building for dance and synergies in cultural work in relation to the CULTURE PASSAGE BREMEN concept.

Moderation: Michael Freundt (Managing Director of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland) I Nele Hertling (Director of the Performing Arts Section, Akademie der Künste Berlin) I Daria Holme (Artistic Director EinTanzHaus Mannheim) I Ann-Cathrin Lessel (Managing Director LOFFT – DAS THEATER Leipzig) I Bertram Müller (Co-Founder and long-standing Director of Tanzhaus NRW Düsseldorf) I Dr. Elisabeth Nehring (Dance critic, journalist and co-coordinator of the Round Table Dance, TanzRaumBerlin)
