LA MUJER DE LAS ROSAS
TEATRO LA HORA 25
In LA MUJER DE LAS ROSAS, the Colombian Teatro La Hora 25 translates Gabriel García Márquez’s story “Someone messes up these roses” into touching physical poetry: the love of two children extends far beyond the accidental death of one. Decades later, the former girl still grows those roses, some of which the ghost of the boy who died in the accident secretly branches off every Sunday. Full of hope that one day he will be reunited, he carries a bouquet to his own grave every week … The gestures of the ensemble complemented by Bremen performers, the music and changing light moods merge into a scenario in which the fantastic and the concrete do not contradict each other. Out of this light-footed and melancholic round dance a “magical” reflection of the infinite in the finite emerges.
