Augusto Jaramillo Pineda
Jaramillo Pineda completed his artistic training in his homeland, Colombia. As a dancer, choreographer, actor, and co-founder of the ensemble Hora 25, he contributed to numerous theater and film productions there. In 2001, engagements led him to the Bremer Theater, to Moks and finally to steptext dance project, where he has since then been dancing, teaching and realizing productions of his own.
His work, which frequently revolves around fundamental questions related to human existence and mythological figures and figurations, combines dance and theater, trash and depth, sensuality, soul and humor to intrepid works of choreographic art.
Jaramillo Pinedas directs steptext’s youth label young artists as well as dance theater projects with schoolchildren and students in Germany and abroad.
